Trabzon bread, 11" diameter and 1.30lb in weight. It is known nearly everywhere in Turkey as “Vakfıkebir” or “Trabzon” bread. ... As it's cooked in stone ovens, it is also known as “Stone oven” (Taşfırın) bread. As the baking time is extended as a result of making large bread, the outer crust is thick, the inner part of the bread is soft, baked and has the desired size pores.
One of our favorite and traditional dessert is Gullac. This lovely, light dessert is prepared with Gullac wafers which is made with corn starch and wheat flour. Güllaç dessert contains walnuts or almonds between the layers which are soaked in milk. It is a light and wonderful dessert for warm summer days. You can decorate Gullac with pomegranate seeds in winter or dried fruits like apricots in summer; crushed pistachios are also wonderful over gullac.
